Steve bought a new horse about two months ago. He is a two year old roan Quarter horse. This is Steve giving (Roanie) his first lesson with the saddle and someone on his back. I thought the colt did very well. He will not being doing alot with him this year, as the colt is still growing and just a little on the small side to start with. But, after about a year here, I figure he will be quite well rounded. haha
Ritz Tracker started his 2009 racing with quite an impressive race at Scioto on Thursday. He was second by a nose! The driver said " I passed that other horse three times down the lane." It was battle between the two of them. First Ritz in front , then the other horse. But, at the last two feet of the race the photo finish shows the other horses nose in front.
I was pretty angry with Ritz earlier in the week. He hurt my little Tutti dog. She is bad to chase the horses when I first turn them out in the morning. Well, she just wouldn't stop barking at Ritz, when he stopped it by striking her on the top of the head. I thought she was a goner. I took her to the vet after realizing her head was swelling. She had a crushed sinus and fracture to her skull. She spent the night at the vets, and is home recouping just fine. You would never know it from looking at her.
Anyway, I was on a mission for Ritz to earn the money to pay for the damage he caused to the poor little pouch. The vet bill was $320 dollars. Ritz earned $700 for his second place finish. So, he is off the sh-- list for now.

I expect a big time action shot with Steve and Roanie next year.
Congrats on Ritzy! He needs a nose like mine then he'd have a nose lead ahead of everyone else from the get-go!
I'm glad your little Tooters is healing nicely. A 10 pound dog just can't compete with a 1000 lb (just guessing there on weight!)horse. Very nice informative post there!
WOOHOO! If Ritz keeps this up he'll be eating ORGANIC- NO ANIMALS HARMED IN THE GROWING- PERRIER STEAMED OATS for dinner!!
Glad Tutti came thru her accident, poor little thing. She was a lucky dog!
Neat looking ROanie horse, can't wait for more shots of both! j
