Let the good times roll!

Well, it has been a very busy week around here. We started watching Cody this week, as his mother returned to work. Notice I said we. I have a team of experts on hand to make sure this all goes off right. 2 great grandmas on call. One aunt, Grandpa-Steve (who can rock the baby and read the Quarter Horse News at the same time.)
Tuesday was rather glum when Barbary dropped Cody off for his first day away from her. Aunt Lynny was on hand to watch Cody while I got the barn work done, and the horses jogged. Everything went well. I have to give Barb and Justin credit for having a very well adjusted kid. He was text book.
First he eats, then he poops, then he coos, then he sleeps,.... then he eats, then he poops, then he coos, then he sleeps. You get the picture? haha
I had to modify some of the things I thought would make watching him easier. Barb said no to the electric fence around the playpen. No to hangin the baby carrier from the rafter of the barn so he would be out harms way. I am not allowed to HOSE him off after he poops all up his back. What a kill-joy!
My friend Shelley and I took Ritzy and Chipper to Scioto to qualify for the races on Wednesday. They made us proud. They both qualified with time to spare! So, I have two horses ready for the races.
One of my hens hatched a three chicks this week. I put her and the chicks in a dog crate to protect them from chicken-eatin' critters. They are doing well.

You'll have to save your pennies to invest in the underground fence/shock collar system for when Cody Bob starts walking. I'm certain Barb will give the ok. Congrats on your fine training of Ritzy and Clem!! k

would she let you build a playpen/holding area out of nice fresh bales of hay?? i mean to use while you're working horses not in your house... i might have an extra portable shock collar system available for the future. j
