babies

Well, were are closing in on the arrival of the grand kid. Yesterday we had the "BABY SHOWER". Yes, in all capital letters. Showers now-a-days are certainly fluffed up compared to twenty or thirty years ago. Perhaps its because our kids are much more financially secure than we were. (sarcasm), or maybe its because you just cant raise a child without the double breast pump, the pillow that holds them for you while you nurse them, the teddy bear that makes sounds similar to being back in the womb, or the ten million butt wipes.
No doubt these are wonderful conveniences and it pretty cool that someone invented them to make motherhood easier.
Thanks to Denise for hosting a wonderful shower for my daughter and her son. The food was great to say the least, and having all the family and friends there was wonderful.
Kim sat next to me and I have decided that we have behavior problems. We shouldnt be allowed to sit next to each other at functions. We are disruptive and immature. Constantly heckling and joking. We are just plain ornery.
My daughter received many lovely and thoughtful gifts for which we are very thankful.

It WAS a wonderful shower and she was definitely "showered down" with some very nice gifts. I do believe the other grandma is a bit concerned with your comments/jokes about how the baby monitor and the flashing light sweater may come in handy in case he finds the well out back. Priceless!
